Calderwood Productions originally established in 2003 as video production company, however the aftermath of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami disaster resulted in the business being reorganised and focusing on photography under the name of Calderwood Images.
Dermot Killoran as the founder/photographer recognised that with the growth of smartphone picture taking - digital images had become very commonplace, but quality left a lot to be desired. This was particularly noticeable with the boom of the 'selfie' and social media where the landscape is packed with personal profile images that are very often highly unflattering and poorly taken.
Everyone understands how the right photo elevates their personal standing and their level of self confidence, but it can also be a critical aspect in their career success. With this in mind we conduct private sessions at our studio where people can project their confident self to create a personalised & unique photographic branding.
In addition to headshots and portraits, Calderwood Images also offers photography services directed at tourism promotion working with key Japanese and overseas partners in promoting inward tourism to Japan.
